1/22/09 Mission Upends Lincoln at the Buzzer.
(01-21) 22:54 PST -- Nearly two weeks after Terrence Langston missed a possible game-winning shot at the buzzer against Marshall, the Mission High junior made a putback from the middle of the lane as time expired to give the Bears a 69-68 victory over Lincoln in a chaotic Academic Athletic Association game Wednesday night.
Mission guard Demaree Hampton didn't score in the first quarter and made only a pair of free throws in the third quarter, but finished with 26 points (9-for-25 from the floor). Mission (9-9, 4-1) trailed 50-43 after three quarters, but Hampton led the Bears' comeback with four three-pointers in the final quarter. Langston finished with 16 points and Angelo Gulley added 15.
Lincoln (12-8, 4-1) was led by De'End Parker's 29 points. Parker didn't play in the second quarter after picking up two fouls in the first quarter, but scored 25 of the Mustangs' points in the second half. Devin Koch added 15 points for Lincoln.
